veteran fly fisherman HELP me out ?

K , I live In a development with private lakes that are pretty big and they are stocked with huge browns . It Is 39 Degrees outside right now and there lots of wind which is making the water choppy and its pretty cold . I live in North East Pennsylvania . So basically my question Is what will I use in weather like this ? I see a couple of rises but can’t see what they are eating . What would you guys recommend, fish the top or the bottom ? I Have tried streamers , drys, and nymphs .
Maybe someone can recommend something that works all year round. Thanks for your in advance . .
One more thing I know bigger browns like to eat at night so I would fish the same things that I would during the day ? Are they gonna have trouble seeing darker things that I throw at them ? Thanks in advance

Right now, Sink Tip lines w/ large streamers/wooly-boogers – cast as far as you can, wait, then strip in.

Next: use flashy nymphs – smaller size (18) – cast, let sink, then retrieve “hand over hand” slowly, so that the nymph rises through the water column.

As for dries: take off the sinking line, use a light (6 or 7x) tapered leader, preferably 12 ft long – Small is the key, at this time of year either small (20-24) black midges or small (20-24) blue Wing Olive patterns.

Darker patterns actually work better in low light situations.
Try working the shallower water near daylight/dusk
