How To Reduce Ear Allergy Rash From Cheap Costume Jewelry Earrings

Common Earring Allergies

METAL ALLERGIES

Metal allergies are very common to most people who wear earrings, especially those with sensitive skin. Nickel and cobalt are among the most common problem makers, and they are found in just about all of the metal beads and findings in jewelry.

Copper and brass beads and findings often contain a very high concentration of cobalt and nickel.

Sterling silver is made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other alloys, including copper and nickel. But be careful of many products you find that claim t be ’sterling silver’.

Gold is probably the least allergenic of the metals beaders often use, but it also has some trace of copper or silver in it. The higher the karat number, the less the amount of alloys, but if you’re extremely allergic to metal, you might want to be wary of this one, too.

SO WHAT TO DO?

Some suggestions:

Try painting three or more coats of clear nail polish on your metal findings and beads to keep the metal away from your skin! Do a test run before you put too much effort into the project to make sure this will work. Also this needs to be reapplied regularly.

Gold can be worn by some with a mild allergy. But it should be 14K or higher.

Surgical Steel. The term “Surgical” steel does not mean anything. It can be a very low grade of steel which can/will contain reactive metals. If you are considering steel for piercings it should be of “implant grade”. The most common metal that meets implant grade standards is
316-lvm Stainless Steel. It must meet all requirements of ASTM-F138 to be considered implant grade.

Consider nonreactive metals:
Titanium is the safest metal available for sensitive skin, especially for anyone allergic to nickel or silver. It is used for surgical implants and earrings are the same medical grade. Allergic reactions to titanium are almost unheard of.

These earrings are available in polished titanium, which looks like silver or platinum and also in anodised colours. Anodising is an electrochemical process which causes the surface of the metal to change colour, there are no other materials added and there is no plating or painting.

Mexico’s Carnival, Fiesta Forever! It’s More Than Just Beads…

Celebrated the week prior to Ash Wednesday and normally lasting a little less than a week, Carnival in Mexico has a long tradition dating back to the nineteenth century. Coming from the Latin word Carnavale, meaning “goodbye to the flesh,” Carnival refers to the week before Lent (Cuaresma), where carefree abandonment and indulgence are encouraged.

Beauty Queens and Burning Moods, what else can you ask for?

Kick-off begins with the burning of El Mal Humor (Bad Mood), in which an effigy, usually modeled after an unpopular politician of the day, is hung and burned, followed by a flurry of confetti and fireworks. This gives commencement to nearly a week of festivities in some of Mexico’s most popular coastal cities, including Campeche, Mazatlan, Veracruz and Merida, just to name a few.

Host cities celebrate all sorts of parades daily, depending on the local carnival’s theme, which differs from region to region. Parades display an array of floats decoratively inspired by Mexican scenery and normally featuring bright flowers and live entertainment. Some parades require an entrance fee, and visitors are advised to get tickets to the parade as soon as they can through the local tourist office or hotel.

Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnaval-February 16-20

For the first time ever, a surf carnival has been added this year at Zacatela beach in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. This festival with a laid-back Woodstock-like atmosphere will take place on the beach and will have D.J.S, a fashion show, electronic dance parties and break dancing competitions as well as plenty of surf in the Pacific Ocean.

Men and women can compete in surfing competitions as well as enjoy the many festivities offered in conjunction with the carnival. The Grand Carnival Parade takes place on Tuesday the 20th, followed by a costume contest and an awards ceremony at Town Hall.

Mazatlan– February 8-20

Mazatlan, home to the third-largest Carnival celebration in the world after those in New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro, attracts more than 400,000 people each year. From February 8 to 20, thrill-seekers fill the malecón (oceanside promenade) running along downtown’s Ollas Altas beach, singing and dancing along roving mariachi bands. You can also catch regional Sinaloenses bands with lots of brass, as well as rock groups that set up along the way.

Food lovers can enjoy open-air culinary festivals in the Zona Dorada (Golden Zone) and in Machado Plaza. Prominent dishes on hand include Mazatlán’s famous pescado zarandeado (barbecued fish), camarones con mango (mango shrimp) and marlín ahumado (smoked marlin). After enjoying some fresh seafood, Ollas Atlas port offers a unique offshore fireworks presentation February 17 representing a mock naval battle, in commemoration of Mazatlan’s 1864 victory over the French Navy.

Veracruz – February 13 – 21

Known for its Afro-Caribbean-influenced culture, the port city of Veracruz on the Gulf of Mexico hosts the second-largest Carnival in the country. Parade-goers can expect to see Draculas, drag queens and women in sparkling dresses dancing to the infectious Caribbean/Spanish rhythms along Miguel Avila Camacho Boulevard. Groups from neighboring villages dance in peacock and pheasant-feathered headdresses. A must during Carnival in Veracruz is dancing! Visitors should not miss the chance to dance at the zocalo, or central square. Salsa, cumbia, reggae and marimba are popular, but Jarochos (people from Veracruz) hold a special place in their hearts for the music and dance known as danzon, which first arrived from Cuba in 1880. For live music, visit the zocalo and/or the malecon on February 21, featuring Mexican artists.

And when they aren’t dancing, there’s nothing like sitting on the banks of the Jamapa River in the nearby town of Boca del Rio and enjoying succulent grilled huachinango (red snapper), or a vuelve a la vida (Veracruz-style seafood cocktail, a well-known hangover remedy) at bargain prices.

Cozumel – February 14-21

Known as one of the most popular celebrations in the Mexican Caribbean, Cozumel has commemorated this pre-Lenten celebration for nearly 100 years bringing Carnaval to life in an exciting explosion of color and music. Cozumel’s unique celebration includes a variety of costumed characters, such as Harlequins, rumba dancers, Spaniards, gypsy women, fairies, princesses, bullfighters and kings and queens that can be spotted during the week.

This carnival is also considered a family-friendly version of the holiday and begins with the crowning of the emperor and empress as well as the king and queen of Carnaval. As the week progresses and the momentum builds, the island’s celebration continues with colorful parades, nightly street fairs and daily musical performances and dancing throughout the streets of downtown San Miguel.

Merida– February 14-21

The Yucatan Peninsula’s capital city of Merida is one of the many cities that celebrate Carnival, with this year’s theme centered on “The Circus”. Since 1980, the people of the Yucatan celebrate the marching of “El Jacarandoso,” a popular character who was once king of the Carnival and annually displays the most colorful and amusing costume. On Monday during Carnival week, the ladies don hand-embroidered dresses and the gentlemen sparkling white guayaberas, the dress shirts typical of the region.

Other important carnival destinations in Mexico include Ensenada, Baja California; Guaymas, along the Sea of Cortez in Sonora; Tepic, Nayarit; and Chamula, Chiapas, said to be one of the most indigenous festivals in the country.

Is my HD hooked up right?

I was watching a best buy commercial and they were talking up HD being done right. How do you get it wrong? I got a picture for the HD channels. It looks better than standard definition. My HDMI input even works, but is it done right?

The problem is that although it looks better than a standard tv it doesn’t seem like that a big of a leap. It feels more like DVD quality, but if that was the case we wouldn’t need HD DVDs. Is it the channels I have (hbo, starz, sho, tmc, nbc, abc, and pbs) Does Discovry HD Theatre or HDnet show it off the best or is my HD truly not hooked up right. It was hooked up my a cable (mediacom) technician.

Native American Jewelry, the Perfect Gift Idea

This art form is one of the most beautiful of the native Indians of North America. Various pueblos have their own unique style of making jewelry. Sterling silver and turquoise are usually used in abundance. Men’s bolo ties, belt buckles and women’s necklaces, cuff style bracelets and earrings are the most common items made. The Navajo, Hopi and Zuni are the best pueblos, in my estimation, for high quality jewelry.

The Navajo people are adept at hand casting silver and creating petit-point jewelry. They also do wonderful inlaid work with turquoise and various other stones such as coral, jet and spiny oyster shell.

I am a big fan of turquoise so I usually enjoy the nugget type jewelry. I also love inlaid work. It takes many hours to complete a piece and when it’s done, you have a unique piece of wearable art. I have this thing for Zuni sunface’s. I even have two on my wedding ring! We have many available pieces on our website oneofakindthings.com I add new pieces weekly

The Zuni are renowned for their inlaid work, using turquoise, opals, spiny oyster shell, malachite, hematite, mother of pearl, jet, and coral usually. Each tiny piece is cut and placed by hand creating the image or scene desired. The various stones have a spiritual meaning as well. Turquoise, for example, is a stone representing good fortune and good luck. Called the lucky stone in many cultures.

The Hopi Indians are known for their sterling silver overlay work. Two pices of silver are layed over each other. The design is carved and etched deeply, creating a blackened design. Each piece tells a story in an intricately carved scene. I love Hopi jewelry for the symbols and story telling that each piece offers. I have many with the water symbol.

In all of these pueblos the talent and creativity is unbelievable, resulting in some of the most beautiful jewelry in the world.

Aboriginal Natives of the Red Lands

There are many native peoples spread across the globe, some very thinly. A couple examples I will give, however,  maintain a relatively healthy numbers of present  living members.

The peoples which now live on what we know as the Navajo Nation, who call themselves the Dine’, (Din-eh), originated from a land far colder and much farther to the north, in the north of Canada and Alaska. Ever since approximately the fifteenth century the Dine’ have shifted to the American Southwest. For over one hundred years the territory comprising their nation, which has slowly grown since establishment, has covered a large chunk of Arizona, along with a considerable section of New Mexico, and a respectable strip of extreme southeastern Utah.

What may they have in common with the Australian aboriginal inhabitants which are believed to have traveled from tropical East Asia? What quality makes their lives at least a little similar to the Native Americana that I had just mentioned?  The aboriginal groups “down under”,  who may call themselves Koori,  Anangu, or Wangkangurru  for example, depending on the area they reside in, are are understood to have come by boat form greener regions just as the Dine’. Unlike the dwellers of the Colorado Plateau in North America, the original Australians came from a much warmer climate, Tropical vs Boreal and Polar

Those are but only remote and trivial similarities, save for their mutual lengthy treks away from the original latitudes of their previous homes, and of course, the movements themselves from wetter extravagantly verdant landscapes to more arid climatic zones. Long before European sailors and settlers came, these people roamed the lands of their respective continents. They are both natives to the continent which they are to the present day calling “home”, but there is more to it than that.

To answer the former posed question, they both have for their homelands, a majestic colorful red rock landscape, unmatched in elegance and stature by few other places in the world. Also the natives, tragically, have in times past, and even today by some callous ignorant people, been considered “less than” those who later came to usurp them, by some irrational measure. The ones who took over their lands had aimed to confine them to set aside portions of land referred to as “reservations” or “reserves”.

Now days, plenty representatives of both societies live outside of these reserved lands, but often prefer the comfort of living within a community and culture that is more sympathetic to and understanding of that individual’s basic requirements, be it mental, physical, or spiritual. Navajoland and Arnhemland represent two such beautiful areas. Both are well known for producing beautiful unique art sold around the world. This is only one of many ways cultures like these to live on, by spreading knowledge of who they are and what they believe/perceive!

The globe is massive and wide variations are the general rule, yet small similarities between very far off locations of the globe can be pinpointed if sought out. These details are sometimes very obvious, but sometimes remain hidden, awaiting ties of similarity to be unearthed.  I thought it interesting to point them out to those that perhaps are little familiar with either of the two relevant great peoples of Australia and the American Southwest.

If one has the funds and the desire, I would recommend to go out and see what those peoples are all about, to absorb their cultures,  to understand their root motivations. Knowing more about different facets of varying human social communities could do nothing less than allow us to contemplate what must be known for all of humankind to comprehend one another and work alongside our fellow citizen of humanity toward a common beneficial goal!

A bench top label dispenser is a machine built to simplify the process of removing a label from its liner or backing tape. Label dispensers are designed with varying sizes and features which are often specific to the type of label they can dispense.
The labels are then applied by either manual application or automatic application. automatic application are basically of two types 1. Tamp on. 2. Wipe on.
Use
Label dispensers have many uses. Imagine how many items you purchase have labels, almost everything. Those labels were either applied by a machine or by hand, and most likely were peeled from the backing paper using some sort of label dispenser. Some of the more popular are bulk mailing, manufacturing, packaging, food and beverage, fast food, photo labs, and more.
Manual label dispenser
Patents on Manual label dispensers go back to the 1920s. They are designed for light-duty use. They are operated by hand and are not automated, but still assist in the process of removing labels from their liners. Many manual label dispensers can dispense multiple rolls at once. Operation is performed by pulling the liner/backing paper around a plate or bar which causes the label to peel away from the backing paper. This happens because the backing paper is usually thinner than the label itself and is also underneath. When the liner is forced around a tight radius the label lifts away and protrudes through the front or top of the dispenser.
Semi-automatic label dispenser
Electric Semi-automatic label dispensers were first patented in the early 1970s. They were originally designed for multiple-row address labels for bulk mailing houses. On average a good mailing house employee could apply approximately 500 labels per hour to envelopes. The label dispenser increased this to over 2,000 per hour. These dispensers advance individual or multiple-row labels and remove them from their lining similar to a manual dispenser, but instead of manually pulling on the liner, label advancement occurs when a trigger on the dispenser detects the absence of a label, such as when the operator removes the label. The sensor then closes the circuit and engages the motor, dispensing the next label until the sensor once again detects the label which opens the circuit. The first electric dispenser was designed with the limit switch on the left of a 16″ wide machine. 4-up multiple-row labels were loaded into the machine and once activated would advance one row of labels. The operator would take the labels from right to left, so that when the leftmost label was taken, the next row advanced, automatically providing a constant supply of labels to apply. The labels are also peeled without the natural curl that will happen when pulled from the backing paper with fingers. Also, only one hand was needed to take the label, the other hand could be used to move the material the label was being applied to.
Semi-automatic label dispensers are often built to withstand industrial conditions.
Components
Motor: The motor automates the label dispenser and controls the speed at which labels are dispensed.
Feed-Roller: This actually is the first patented method used in the semi-automatic label dispenser to advance the label forward. The label material is fed over the peeling edge, then through a feed-roller assembly which pinches the label material between a metal roller and a rubber roller. The metal roller is held in place with bushings pressed into aluminum blocks which hinge on a rod supported between two sideframes. The blocks use springs on each side to hold tension against the rubber roller (driven by a motor), and this also holds the tracking of the label material to the side of the machine with the sensor. Using this method label stock up to 16″ width can be advanced and tracked perfectly. The disadvantage/advantage to this method is waste is not collected, but pushed out through the rear of the machine where it can be fed into a trash receptacle.
Take-up hub/spool: This can take the place of the feed-roller. The take-up hub consists of a bar and a liner holder/clip, which are connected to the motor on a single side-frame. In operation, they turn in sync with the motor and wind the label liner in order to collect it in one place. As the take-up hub turns, pressure is placed in the liner and it is stretched across the strip plate, where…(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about german overlay paper, digital scrapbook paper, . Tips for Selecting your Satellite TV Service Provider

More and more people are now opting for satellite TV programming and if you are one of them you may want to consider some facts before deciding which off the two leading service providers is best for you. All satellite TV service providers use the same technology to function and it begins by receiving their signals from programming stations such as CNN by cable.

The signal is then sent from the uplink station to the satellites that are in stationary orbit hundreds of miles above the earths equator. From there, the signal is then sent back down to earth to be picked up by the satellite TV service providers customers and watched on their TV sets. Currently there are two satellite TV programming service providers operating in the U.S. And they are DirecTV and Dish Network.

While there are many similarities in how they market their programming and its contents there are also many marked differences as well. For instance, while DirecTV is recognized as specializing in premium sports channels with over twenty-five in its programming repertoire Dish Network is seen as the leader in premium movie programming with over thirty channels to select from.

Both Dish Network and DirecTV have over 350 programming channels in their inventories and they both offer free satellite radio programming with most of their programming packages. They have both also recently upped their number of high definition programming channels and while Dish Network has thirty-eight DirecTV tops that with seventy-two.

Some of the popular premium movie programming channels that you can expect to find with these two satellite TV providers include Showtime Unlimited, Starz Superpak, Cinimax, HBO and TMC just to name a few of them. Both of these two service providers also have great on demand movie features that allow you to select from hundreds of newer releases each and every month.

Both of these leading satellite TV service providers are also well known for their wide ranging choices in sports programming that includes the best in professional boxing, football, baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, motor sports, hunting, fishing, full contact and all forms of extreme sports jut to name a few of their offerings. For music audio programming they both have the best in satellite radio with Dish Network providing 60 channels of Sirius radio with their programing packages and DirecTV giving away 67 channels of XM radio. If you are unfamiliar with this new state of the art format of radio its entirely commercial free.

One new genre of TV programming that has been growing in popularity is multicultural programming and more and more Americans are subscribing to it. You can add it either by subscribing to entire programming packages or signing up for the individual channels. One great aspect of many of the multicultural programming channels is that they are also captioned in English, so they are a great source of study and information material for someone trying to learn a second language.

While other service providers are content to add only a few foreign language channels in one or two languages satellite has gone the whole way and covers every corner of the planet with regards the choices that they have to select from. Russian, Chinese, Farsi, Spanish, Armenian, Tagalog, Polish, Korean, French, German, Portuguese and the list goes on. Before you commit yourself to any of the service providers that are on the market make sure that you have considered all of your options, so you wont be left disappointed.

Making Earrings with Beads, Ear Wire and Eye Pins

It is quite easy to make earrings to coordinate with other jewellery pieces by using similar
colours and beads. The hoop earring is the easiest, all you have to do is tread on the beads
and attach the hoop to the ear wire. The dangling earring means making loops, but is also
easy with a little practice.

You will need…
· Beads
· Earring hoop
· Ear wire

Step-by-step for hoop earrings

1-Gently pull the wire at the top of the hoop until it clears the metal clasp and thread on the
beads.

2-Carefully replace the wire into the metal clasp at the top of the hoop.

3-Open the loop of the ear wire and thread on the hoop. Close the loop of the ear wire.

Dangling Earrings

You will need…
· Beads
· Eye pins
· Head pins
· Ear wire

Step-by-step for dangling earrings

1-Decide on the pattern of beads to be used.

2-Thread the beads onto an eye pin or a head pin (an eye pin if you are going to attach
another bead to it, a head pin if that is the last bead to dangle) and form a loop.

To make a loop

· Thread bead onto eye pin or head pin

· Using the flat nose pliers, bend the open end of the eyepin at right angles, as close
to the bead as possible

· Using the wire cutter, cut the bent end of the eyepin leaving approximately 6-7mm
of wire. The length needed to form the loop depends on amount of wire needed to
create a loop to match the loop already in place, at the other end

· Using the round nose pliers, grab the very end of the bent end of the eyepin, about
5mm from the tip of the pliers. The exact position on the pliers depends on the
size of loop required to match the loop already in place at the other end

· Holding the tip of the wire, roll the pliers along the wire, forming a loop which is
centered over the hole in the bead

3-Attach beads, in the chosen sequence, by opening the loop of one bead and attaching to the
loop of the next bead.

4-Finish by attaching the beads to the loop of the ear wire.

Why You Should Purchase Handmade Beaded Jewellery

Many of us probably own several different pieces of mass produced designer jewellery that we have either purchased at a jewellery mall ourselves, consisting of mass produced metal and gemstone look-alike glass jewellery, or unfortunately received as special gifts over many years from family and well wishers. However, you may not own any genuine handmade beaded jewellery consisting of unique and genuine gemstones. There are many reasons why you should purchase handmade beaded jewellery and make these special pieces a regular part of your handmade beaded jewellery collection.

Handmade beaded jewellery created with genuine semi-precious gemstones is delicately made with love and utmost care by individual jewellery artists. They do not operate automated machines that speed up, depersonalise and cheapen the jewellery process. Instead, they choose to delicately handcraft each piece of jewellery with only the help of a few expensive and expertly used specialised tools, their hands and the imaginative ideas that are instilled in their head that’s all needed to produce unique and genuine handcrafted beaded bracelets and handcrafted beaded necklaces. You will be supporting the talent and creativity of the specialised jewellery artists who make this beautiful handmade beaded jewellery. Your financial support will also help these talented individuals to continue their preciously talented work. Many artists receive relatively little financial compensation for the extended amount of hours they exact into their delicate work. Most artists create handmade jewellery to fulfil their creative passion and creativity talent, not to make money. However, they still need to earn a decent living to continue their passion and trade. Therefore, it is very important to support the arts and crafts community. If enough customers purchase their products, artists will be able to create even more amazing pieces of beautiful handcrafted beaded bracelets and handcrafted beaded necklaces, wearable and uniquely genuine beaded jewellery. Purchasing handmade beaded jewellery is a great way for you to personally contribute to the arts and crafts community and gain some beautiful and delicate pieces of jewellery in the process.

Handmade jewellery is also much higher-quality and more delicately and durably constructed than most artificially mass produced so-called jewellery items items. More care and attention goes into one tiny piece of handmade beaded jewellery than an entire factory of mechanically massed reproduced items! Mass Producing Factories are specifically designed to produce as many articles of mass produced jewellery as physically possible; their main focus is on mass volume production for the minimum of price and effort, the emphasise is on volume of sales and high quality of the jewellery items is not an issue. On the other hand, dedicated jewellery artists are only concerned with producing unique jewellery items, being creative and of very high-quality. The unique jewellery pieces take many hours, even days or weeks of labour intensive work to create just one individual piece of unique jewellery. However, the care and attention to detail is well worth the extra wait and maybe cost!

Another reason to purchase handmade beaded jewellery is because each piece is genuine and unique. No two pieces are ever exactly alike because the artists handcraft each item individually. Therefore, you never need to be concerned about showing up at your next high society or even works party or social event and discovering many other women wearing the exact the same mass produced necklace or mass produced bracelet as you are wearing. Handmade beaded jewellery allows you to express your individually creativity by choosing a unique and genuine one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery that best reflects your own personal lifestyle and personality. This option is certainly not available by perusing the jewellery department of your local shopping mall. Anyone can pick out a piece of jewellery from a selection of hundreds of mass produced jewellery pieces at your traditional store. However, if you choose to purchase handcrafted beaded jewellery at Actual Gemstone Jewellery, you will be able to proudly display your genuine and unique beaded jewellery knowing you and your heirs are the only people in the world with this exact same piece, unique, genuine beaded jewellery!

The next time you are looking for a piece of beautiful and awe inspiring jewellery, consider purchasing unique handmade beading bracelet, handcrafted beaded necklace or similar earrings. You will be showing your individual support for the talented jewellery artists who lovingly create high-quality, unique items. You will not only be helping the local arts community, but gaining some beautiful new pieces of handmade beaded jewellery to add to your existing gemstone jewellery collection.

If you have a challenging situation and need the courage to face a long-overdue speaking of your truth, a difficult request to make, a public-speaking engagement, a variety of the extremely rare type of semi-precious jewellery is considered by healing experts and believing gemmologists, a selection of the most beneficial gemstones to wear or carry especially when incorporated into handmade beaded bracelets or handmade beaded necklaces all unique silver jewellery with genuine and unique semi-precious gemstones.

Semi-precious birthstones and healing gemstones worn as handmade semi-precious jewellery is considered by healing experts and believing gemmologists, as the most beneficial healing gemstones to wear or carry, especially when incorporated into unique and genuine handmade beaded bracelets or handmade beaded necklaces all with unique sterling silver jewellery with genuine and unique semi-precious gemstones.
