What To Consider Before Buying An Olive Oil Facial Cleanser

You might disagree, but hear me out on this. What should you consider before you buy an olive oil facial cleanser? You might want to think about the fact that oils could not be cleansing. One of the primary purposes of using cleansers is to remove excessive oils.

When natural oils, called sebum, build up on the skin, bacteria, which is normally present, feed on them. Sebum has some natural antibacterial activity, but only when it is initially secreted. Olive “leaf” extract has some natural antibacterial activity, too. But, it is due to a compound that is not present in the oil.

If the sebum and the bacteria continue to build up, pimples or blemishes can occur. After a while, if it is not cleaned away, odor occurs. Cleansers are an important part of any skincare ritual. While an olive oil facial cleanser might be alright for occasional use, it is not something that you would want to use on a daily basis.

People with excessive dryness may find that the popular cleansers are irritating. My suggestion is tea tree oil. It might sound like I am contradicting myself, but tea tree oil has natural antibacterial activity. Another excellent choice is manuka honey. It, too, has natural antibacterial and antioxidant activity.

The problem with most cleansers is that they contain petroleum-based alcohols. These cause burning, redness and irritation. They strip away sebum, which only stimulates the production of more. So, they are a bad choice for people with excessive oiliness or excessive dryness.

One of the things that an olive oil facial cleanser could provide is moisture. But, the cleansing would come from the use of clean clothes and warm water, not from the olive oil, itself. Your best bet is to use a gentle cleansing solution on a daily basis. There are many on the market.

On a bi-weekly or an occasional basis, use a deep cleansing mask. You may have tried masks before and found that they dried out after a few minutes. They were difficult to remove and might even have caused some irritation.

There are new masks on the market that will not dry out, because they contain macadamia oil. That is a luxurious moisturizer that soothes and nourishes the skin’s layers.

The cleansing ingredients in the mask are bentone gel, allantoin and kaolin. You will not find those ingredients in an olive oil facial cleanser. They are extracts from clay and sugar beets that work together to absorb excessive oils and pull dirt out of the pores.

Regardless of how dry your skin is, there is dirt and pollutants that need to be removed on a daily basis. There is no need to use an abrasive cleanser. But you do need to use something that has some cleansing activity.

Do yourself a favor. After cleansing, follow up with a nourishing moisturizer. Use one that contains grape seed oil during the day and one that contains avocado oil at night. You are not likely to be happy with the results of an olive oil facial cleanser. But, you have other options.

Hair Accessories Comeback as True Fashion Accessory

It seems that hair accessories, which have long been shamefully ignored by luxury fashion accessory designers, have been making a long overdue (in my opinion) comeback.  Now if you’re thinking I’m referring to the thick padded satin or velvet headbands that you once used to hide a very ugly hair day or those abominable things called ‘scrunchies’, that you made sure you destroyed all evidence that you ever owned any, then you are very wrong indeed

What is most appealing about the hair accessory ‘comeback’ is that they have made a ‘comeback’ as a true fashion accessory that can take a worthy place next to any designer bag, shoes or jewellery for that matter.  Over the last few fashion seasons we have seen the emergence of hair adornments and hair pieces on runways, not as an added afterthought, but as a respectable part of the outfits and entirety of the show.  Headbands and headpieces are now being created with true designer flair and workmanship, in styles and using materials that would previously have been hard to imagine.

Take headbands for instance:

Designs

Headbands are now being designed in all sizes ranging from super slim to extra wide, in all designs ranging from the traditional hard headband to the soft headband, the headband scarf, the head wrap etc.

Sizes

In addition to the change in styles and designs we have seen a change in the way hair accessories such as headbands are worn.  Headbands are now worn as part of the hairstyle, where the headband slips into the hairstyle and features as a part of the hairstyle you are wearing rather than as a way of pulling hair back off the face or concealing a bad hairstyle.  Headbands or head wraps are also being worn on top of the hair in a ‘hippy’ style.  This look can range from a true ‘hippy’ look using leather straps and ties to a highly glamorous bijoux hippy look using decorative crystal adorned or metallic wraps.

Hair Styles

What’s also incredibly inspiring about hair accessories such as headbands/head wraps etc is that now, unlike previously, women are incorporating hair accessories such as headbands in their hair styles no matter what length or style their hair is – headbands can be worn on all hair lengths ranging from short hair to long hair and added to up-dos as well.  Even women sporting serious rock chic short hairstyles look great with a contrasting stylish headband.

Liquid Crystals and Electronic Calculators

Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. The term refers to all real objects in the natural world, such as marbles, rocks, ice crystals, oxygen gas, water, hair, and cabbage. The term ‘states of matter’ refers to the four physical forms in which matter can occur: solid, liquid, gaseous, and plasma. Our understanding of the nature of matter is based on certain assumptions about the particles of which matter is composed and the properties of those particles. This understanding is summarized in the kinetic theory of matter according to which, all matter is composed of tiny particles. These particles can be atoms, molecules, ions, or some combination of these basic particles. Therefore, if it were possible to look at the tiniest units of which a piece of aluminum metal is composed, one would be able to observe aluminum atoms. Similarly, the smallest unit of a sugar crystal is thought to be a molecule of sugar.

The fundamental particles of which matter is composed are always in motion. Those particles may rotate on their own axes, vibrate back and forth around a certain definite point, travel through space like bullets, or display all three kinds of motion. The various states of matter differ from each other on the basis of their motion. In general, the particles of which solids are made move very slowly, liquid particles move more rapidly, and gaseous particles move much more rapidly than either solid or liquid particles. The particles of which plasma are made have special properties.

Solid, liquid, and gas: these are the three most common forms of matter. But some materials do not fit neatly into one of these three categories. Liquid crystals are one such form of matter. Liquid crystals are materials that have properties of both solids and liquids. They exist at a relatively narrow range of temperatures. At temperatures below this range, liquid crystals act like solids. At temperatures above the range, they act like liquids. The behavior of liquid crystals is due to the shape of the molecules of which they are made. We can think of those molecules as looking like cigars or pencils: they tend to be long and thin. They can be arranged within a material in one of three forms. In nematic crystals, the molecules are all parallel to each other but are free to move back and forth with relation to each other. The molecules in smectic crystals are also parallel to each other but they do not move back and forth; they are, however, further arranged in layers that do pass over each other. And the molecules in cholesteric crystals occur in highly structured layers that are set at slightly different angles than the ones above and below them.

The interesting property about liquid crystals is the way they transmit light. Light can pass through a liquid crystal more easily in one direction than in another. If we look at one of the crystals from one direction, we might see all the light passing through it. But from another direction, no light would be visible. The crystal would be dark. The arrangement of molecules in a liquid crystal can be changed by adding energy to the crystal. If we warm the crystal, for example, molecules may change their position with relation to each other. This fact is utilized in new kinds of medical thermometers that change color with temperature. As body heat changes, the molecules in the liquid crystal change, the light they transmit changes, and different colors appear.

Liquid crystals are also used for the display in electronic calculators. When we press a button on the calculator, we send an electric current through the display. The electric current causes molecules in the liquid crystal to change their positions. More or less light passes through the crystal, and numbers either light up or go dark. The motion of the particles of matter is a function of the energy they contain. Suppose that we add heat, a form of energy, to a solid. That heat is used to increase the speed with which the solid particles are moving. If enough heat is added, the particles eventually move rapidly enough that the substance turns into a liquid: it melts.

One can distinguish among solids, liquids, and gases on two levels: the macroscopic and submicroscopic. The term macroscopic refers to properties that can be observed by the five human senses, aided or unaided. The term submicroscopic refers to properties that are too small to be seen even with the very best of microscopes. On the macroscopic level, solids, liquids, and gases can be distinguished from each other on the basis of shape and volume. That is, solids have both constant shape and constant volume. Liquids have constant volume but indefinite shape. Gases have neither constant volume nor constant shape. They take the size and shape of whatever container they are placed into.

These macroscopic differences among solids, liquids, and gases reflect properties of the particles of which they are made. In solids, those particles are moving very slowly and tend to exert strong forces of attraction on each other. Since they have little tendency to pull away from each other, they remain in the same shape and volume. The particles of a liquid are moving more rapidly, but they still exert a significant force on each other. These particles have the ability to flow past each other but not to escape from the attraction they feel for each other. The particles of a gas are moving very rapidly and feel very little attraction for each other. They fly off in every direction, preventing the gas from taking on either definite shape or volume.

Plasma is considered to be the fourth state of matter. Plasmas have been well studied in only the last few decades. They rarely exist on Earth, although they occur commonly in stars and other parts of the universe. A plasma is a gaslike mixture with a very high temperature. The temperature of the plasma is so high that the atoms of which it is made are completely ionized. That means that the electrons that normally occur in an atom have been stripped away by the high temperature and exist independently of the atoms from which they came. Plasma is, therefore, a very hot mixture of electrons and positive ions, the atoms that are left after their electrons have been removed.

Human Hair

One theory suggests that nature selected humans for little body hair as part of a set of adaptations including bipedal locomotion and an upright posture. Bipedal locomotion is extremely inefficient, and many animals can outrun human beings for short periods of time; such animals, however, are inefficient radiators of heat, and cannot run for long periods of time (notable exceptions include most cursorial animals, including savannah fauna). Thus, human hunters must be able to chase animals for long periods of time, and must therefore have an efficient mechanism for radiating body heat.

Upright posture exposes less surface area of the body to direct solar radiation, and subcutaneous sweat glands developed, providing such a cooling mechanism. A more recent theory for human hair loss has to do with a possible period of bipedal wading in a salt marsh in the Danakil region of Ethiopia, which occurred in the hominid lineage, between 5 and 7 million years ago. As a wading animal, it was more efficient to develop short body hair and a layer of subcutaneous fat for streamlining and insulation in the aquatic environment; the eccrine sweat glands developed later after the hominids left the water. This is why most hairless mammals are aquatic (dolphins, dugongs, whales), had an aquatic period in their pasts (elephants, rhinoceroses, pigs) or have very short fine fur because of brief periods back out of the water (seals, sea lions). There is a hypothesis that claims humans are no exception to this rule of hairlessness through means of a marine transition (Aquatic Ape Theory).

Typically, humans have more hair on the top of the head, because this region of the body was exposed to solar radiation at all times, even when wading, and also hair where extremities meet the torso (axillary (arm-pit) hair, and pubic hair), on the eyelids and above them (eyebrows). In most societies people shave, style or adorn their hair for aesthetic reasons.

Sometimes, the term body hair is used, to distinguish hair on the body from hair on the head. All hairs alternate regular periods of growth and dormancy. During the growth portion of the cycle, hair follicles are long and bulbous, and the hair advances outward at about a third of a millimeter per day. After three to six months, body hair growth stops (the pubic and axillary areas having the longest growth period). The follicle shrinks and the root of the hair rigidifies. Following a period of dormancy, another growth cycle starts, and eventually a new hair pushes the old one out of the follicle from beneath. Head hair, by comparison, grows for a long duration and to a great length before being shed. Anthropologists speculate that the functional significance of long head hair may be adornment, a by-product of secondary natural selection once other somatic hair had been lost.

Unlike other animals, human beings often have their hair cut or remove it by shaving or other means.

It is important to note that hair grows across all areas of the skin on humans regardless of sex or race except in the following locations: the lips, the nipples, the palms of hands, the soles of feet, certain external genital areas, and the navel.

David is a well known author who writes about hair problems & solutions like Hair Loss , Hair Loss Cure and Hair Loss Prevention .

Hair Loss, Causes for Hair Loss, stress Hair Transplantation, Hair Dyes, Hair Loss is Useful in Crime Detection

Hair loss is a normal phenomenon. It is scientifically proven that human beings shed on an average 50 to 100 hairs a day. When hair loss becomes excessive it becomes worrisome.

Loss of hair becomes excessive during illness. Significant stresses in life causes hair to fall excessively. Moreover when a person develops fever or undergoes a major surgery hair loss is inevitable. During pregnancy daily hair loss does not occur. Following childbirth hair starts to fall excessively which can be seen while combing the hair. Other conditions associated with hair loss include Thyroid disease, severe infections and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Ringworm infestation also causes patches of baldness with pink scales.

Children who take large quantities of Vitamin A develop baldness and softening of skull bones followed by development of a swelling called pseudotumour cerebri.

Hair is made up of a protein called Keratin which belongs to the class of Scleroproteins. When some people go on a crash diet or adopt abnormal eating habits the body adapts to conserve its protein content by reversing hair growth to a resting phase. A couple of months later this is manifested by shedding large amounts of hair. However this can be reversed by taking a protein-rich diet. Deficiency of Iron also causes hair loss as seen in women who experience heavy menstrual flow. The male hormone testosterone is responsible for the baldness in males. In women increased hair loss is seen after menopause.

Hair dyes, excessive use of hair dryers, curling irons and styling products are also known to cause hair loss.

In cancer patients following chemotherapy excessive hair loss is seen and they may go bald. This is reversed 3 months following completion of treatment. Some medications used for thinning blood, for treatment of gout, arthritis, acne, psoriasis and some heart problems also cause excessive hair loss. Some women with an inherited hair thinning trait lose hair while on oral contraceptive pills.

Baldness or hair loss is termed alopecia. Hair may be lost in patches as well – the size of a coin or larger – balding progressing backwards from the hairline. This is called alopecia areata. It occurs in either sex at any age – even in childhood. Another variety called androgenic alopecia tends to run in families. A well chosen hairstyle can effectively hide patchy baldness.

It is of interest to note that remedy for hair loss was described in ancient Egypt in the Papyrus Embers which consisted of a concoction of dog’s toes, refuse of dates, and ass’s hoof. However modern medicine has developed treatments that are effective. The first and foremost approach to managing hair loss is to clear the offending agent. It is said that early treatment prevents hair loss. Minoxidil,Finasteride and injectable steroids such as Triamcinolone are being used with a variable success rate. These are usually available as over-the-counter medications.

Hair transplantation has also helped quite a few to rid themselves of baldness. Hair is harvested from healthy scalp and transplanted to areas of hair loss. In experienced hands transplanted hair appears as though naturally occurring.

There is a lot to learn from Eskimos. They rarely wash the hair. Their diet is not balanced consisting mainly of protein and fats but lacking vitamins. Moreover they apply whale and fish oils to the hair for sheen. The cold temperature causes poor circulation in the scalp which is augmented by wearing of hats and clogging of sebum in the scalp. Despite all these deficiencies the rate of baldness in Eskimos is extremely low.

Moreover wearing additions on the hair causes physical tension and causes the hair to fall. This is called traction alopecia. In a psychological condition called “Trichotillomania” the patient keeps on plucking hairs.

Hair loss is useful in crime detection. Hair falls during physical contact and this is matched with available hair samples by light microscopy. This determines whether hair transfer has occurred.

It is being postulated that humans lost hair during evolution to ward off fur-loving bugs in order to attract the opposite sex. It is interesting to know that apart from humans, elephants, pigs, whales, walruses and the mole-rat also are naked mammals.

What is the Significance of Blond Hair and Why is it so Desirable All Over the World?

BLOND

Myth and History

By

Tala Bar

When talking about blond hair, a few questions rise in the mind. What is the reason for such wide admiration for blond hair? Why do “men prefer blonds”? Why do dark haired women from the Mediterranean area constantly bleach their hair, and why do people of African origin dye their black hair yellow?

The answer to these questions is in the remote past, but it is not unduly complicated; it lies in the overall veneration of gold. Gold is the symbol of the sun and marks the basic features granted to the sun as a deity: power, strength, and durability. But the symbolism of gold is not only physical but also spiritual. Like the sun, which it stands for, gold shines by itself with a continuous light, which does not darken and does not tarnish. This characteristic is considered to be not only physical but also spiritual, referring to it as having the qualities of purity, wisdom, nobility, respect, divinity, enlightenment, and eternity.

It is quite clear that there is no place on earth where the sun has not been worshipped in one way or the other. The Bible expresses the sun’s character and importance in a few places. The prophet Malachi says, “The sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in his wings…” (ch. 4, 2); and in Psalms it is said that, “For the Lord God is a sun and a shield…” (ch. 84, 12). A common phrase in modern Hebrew says, “As clear as the sun”, expressing the fact that the sun acts in the light of day and has nothing to hide. The Scandinavian Sun god Balder is called “The Eye of the Sky”, and when he is killed by Hodder, god of darkness and hell, a long period of dark winter is created, when nothing grows until the sun is reborn. Father Christmas, whose dwelling place is the North Pole, represents the young sun in this festival, as may be seen by his red clothes (his white beard symbolizes snow, rather that old age). In ancient Egypt, sun worship was highly developed, and either the Phoenicians or the Viking may have been those who had brought it to America (s. below).

***

But what has all this to do with golden hair? In many beliefs human hair is considered to hold a person’s physical and spiritual power. Biblical Samson (Shimshon in Hebrew, whose name is connected with the sun – Shemesh), called “the hero”, lost his great power when his head was shaven of his magnificent hair; only when it started to grow back, he was able to destroy a whole temple by felling its pillars with his bare hands. The combination of golden hair, then, represents divine superiority, power and control.

The tints of gold can change from the fairest blond hair to the darkest red, and in spite of the visible difference between them, they all symbolize the connection with the Sun as a supreme deity, and those spiritual features attached to it. That is why, even in cultures where black and brown hair are considered beautiful, the lighter colors are thought to express special qualities. The Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl – the initiator of the Kon Tiki and the Ra trips, from South America to Polynesia and from North Africa to America – has mentioned a myth, told among the black haired native Americans, saying that the most prominent American cultures (Maya, Inca and Aztec) were created by white-skinned, bearded people; these people, they say, came from an unknown place and disappeared in the Pacific ocean, where they reappeared in the shape of the giant red-haired sculptures of the Aku Aku culture of Polynesia.

It is quite possible that those white, bearded men were descendents of the Vikings, who arrived in America in the eighth to tenth centuries; but they might have been sea-faring Phoenicians, who arrived in America a long time earlier from North Africa, bringing with them parts of the ancient Egyptian culture – like the pyramids, for instance. Red haired people are fairly common among peoples of the Mediterranean basin, which are a highly mixed race; two of the most prominent Biblical mentions of it are King David, and Esau the Edomite – Adom means “red” in Hebrew.

Originally, all humans, having developed in Africa, Must Have had dark skin and hair, as can be seen in our nearest relatives, the chimpanzee, and as may be expected from the hot conditions of that area; the dark pigmentation works as a protection against the heat. Only when Homo sapiens people left Africa and arrived at Northern Europe, they could afford to forgo the protection against the heat, conserving the energy needed for creating dark pigmentation, and developed means of protection against the cold in the form of body hair, and tall and bony physique, under heavy fur clothing. Scandinavia is the only place on earth where fair skin and hair were ever developed.

Such fair skin and hair was probably developed from an albino mutation, which is well known among the dark tribes of Africa; but while in Africa it is a disadvantage, in Scandinavia it had its merits and spread through the population, together with straight hair and thick beard. The initial settlement in Northern Europe is said to have taken place toward the end of the last ice age, while the ice was beginning to retreat, around 12,000 before the present; at that time, the settlers were fairly isolated from the rest of the continent, thus developing into a pure blond, hardy race. With the melting of the ice these people started moving out, searching for more territory with the food it can provide. It may be assumed that their hardy bodies and minds, being used to the harsh conditions of the North, made them stronger than other races and fit them to overcome any clash between tribes. Such clashes, either by violence (rape) or by mutual consent, lead the to the mixing and assimilation of races, thus creating all kinds of shades of hair that appear throughout the European population: fair, gold, carrot, copper and chestnut, the result of blond mixing with black and brown.

***

Following sun worshipping, many gods and heroes representing it were considered in many places around the world as having blond, or golden hair; and since the sun represents fertility, so did also the figures symbolizing Love as a mark of fertility. This is how Robert Graves presents the White Goddess in charge of fertility among the rest, in his book by that name: “The Goddess is a lovely, slender woman with a hooked nose, deathly pale face, lips red as rowan-berries, startlingly blue eyes and long fair hair…” (p. 24). This description is very close to the appearance of a Viking woman, even though Graves fixes her origin in the Mediterranean basin, among dark-haired population. The Love goddess Aphrodite is said to have climbed out of the sea at Cyprus, and according to many original paintings from ancient Greece, she is supposed to have had dark hair – as she is indeed often presented; Botticelli, however, painted his famous picture of hers with golden hair.

Similar to Aphrodite is the Celtic figure of “Niamah with the Golden Hair”, whose name means “Sun Tear”; her divine personality is expressed in the story that tells how she led the hero Oisin on her horse to the post-death “Islands of Happiness”. The dark or chestnut haired Celts had also a Sun god named Lugh, who was described as having golden hair that gleamed in the sunlight. Like him, on a 14th cent. French goblin, the figure of the Welsh King Arthur appears with golden hair, even though the Welsh are usually dark haired; the whole picture is infused with the golden atmosphere of the sun. Arthur was originally known as a military leader from the 5-6th cent., and the medieval royal ambiance takes him completely out of his original tribal belonging, putting him instead in a connection of golden regal-divine environment; the Arthurian myths connect him with the dying and reviving Sun god, and even with the figure of Jesus as symbolizing the sun. It is well known that Jesus was consistently painted by Christian artists as having golden hair, in blunt contrast to his Mediterranean origin.

The Sun deity could be, then, either male or female; in Semitic myths there were both the Babylonian Shamash god and the Canaanite Shamash or Shapash goddess. An Amerindian story of the Sun deity is told about a Mexican goddess named Chalchuialico, who was a fourth Sun goddess to rule after the three before her had vanished; but before she became a Sun goddess she was a Water goddess dressed in green, who had copper hair. For hundreds of years that Sun goddess supplied light and heat, while women and men appeared on the earth. But other gods envied her, and the God of Darkness (reminiscent of the Scandinavian Hodder), bothered her until she shed tears to the earth and everything vanished in darkness. In the end, the gods decided to create a fifth sun, and for that purpose they had to make a sacrifice, which would bring into being the sun and the moon. The sacrifice to the sun was to be the little goddess Nanna (again, reminiscent of an old world deity connected with the Nordic Balder). While the gods were burning their sacrifice, an eagle (one of the most prominent symbols of the sun) took out her body from the fire in the shape of a ball of fire, fixed it in the sky as she was wrapped in her golden hair.

Many golden haired figures appear in folk tales, which have developed from the ancient myths; one such legendary woman was Isolde, Tristan’s lover, famous not only from medieval poetry and a novel by the 19th cent. French author Joseph Bedier, but also from Wagner’s Opera. The legend tells that when Mark, the king of Cornwall, saw Isolde’s golden hair in a bird’s nest, he declared that he would only marry the owner of that hair. When it was found that the hair belonged to Isolde, the Irish royal princess, Tristan was sent to bring her to Mark, and on the way they fell hopelessly in love. Isolde is a typical Love goddess for whom the hero must die in the end.

It is also possible to find blond heroines in the Grimm Brothers’ Fairy Tales. One of these heroines is Rapunzel, who is said to have had “magnificent long hair, fine as spun gold”; another is the Goose Girl, whose waving locks “were all of pure silver”. Folk tales in turn have developed into modern fiction, and another divine woman with golden hair is Irene, heroine of Galsworthy’s The Forsyte Saga. She is described by the author as looking like a pagan goddess, whose figure expresses that of the Goddess of Love.

From literature to real life, the next type of Love goddess can be found among the goddesses of our times, who are film stars. Some of them are known to have dyed their hair blond, in order to enhance that concept of them, and one such modern Love goddess is Madonna, who is not even beautiful but distinguished by her blond hair. A better claim for the title, though, is Marilyn Monroe, who became famous for her film Men Prefer Blonds. Monroe certainly had the appearance of a Love goddess, with her original dark hair dyed blond, her lovely curvaceous body, and the many stories about her relations with men, that enhanced that illusion. That combination of her appearance, her profession and her behavior, certainly made Marilyn Monroe a throw back to pagan times and Sun worship. It is no wonder, then, that many women like to imitate her, at least by becoming blond; but such throw back may also affect those dark haired men, who prefer to enhance their outer persona in this way.

How to Keep Your House Clean of Pet Hair

A house full of pet hair is a challenge that comes with owning a pet.  Cat or dog, most breeds shed and fur can be one of the hardest things to pick up from carpets with a vacuum cleaner.  It gets mashed into the carpet fibers and due to static – it’s really hard to get carpets really clean again.  But, there are ways that you can deal with the fur.

If you have a dog, you can brush him daily with one of those looped metal rakes. Depending on the breed, they can be quite effective but I’ve found that with my dog, they don’t really help and I have yet to find a brush that really works at transferring less fur onto the carpets.

You can purchase supplements for your pet that help to prevent shedding but, to be honest with you, I’m not comfortable feeding those kinds of supplements to my pet. To me, it’s not natural. Even though the shedding annoys me, pets are supposed to shed and I worry that those supplements could cause pets health problems over the long term.

Another method to deal with a furry house is using something rubber to pick it up. The rubber attracts the fur, almost like a magnet. You can use rubber gloves for this or at one time I had a rubber rake that I had purchased at the pet store. The problem with the rubber gloves is that they ripped after a short time and, it required me to get down on my hands and knees to do it. The rubber rake worked pretty well but then you have to go over the carpets again with the vacuum to pick up the fur piles. I found that that these two methods were a lot more effort and the results weren’t that much better than with the vacuum cleaner.

You could resort to doing some major renovations – rip out your carpets and replace them with hardwood floors. Many pet owners do it. But, of course this is an expensive option and may not be viable for you.

Black Hair Products

Is there a difference possible between black – African – hair care and non-African hair care? And if yes, how come? Well, you should know that making this difference is crucial and very important so as to be able to appropriately take care of your hair and therefore get, the best results, that is, shiny and strong hair. Before talking about the black hair products you need to use for the best of outcomes, we should see how the black and non-African hair differ. Basically, all varieties of hair include the same constituents: the cuticle, the cortex, the melanin, the follicle and the sebaceous glands. then if the composition is the same, why should you still be careful about treating hair distinctively?

Why, after all, do you still need to use adequate black hair products? In spite of the similar form of the hair, the arrangement – the structure of the hair – of the constituent parts is different in black hair compared to that in the non-black hair. Therefore, the characteristics of black hair are different from those of the non-black hair, which requires for a choice of special, black hair products. Although, naturally, one probably believes that black hair is tougher, one would be surprised to learn that black hair is actually more fragile than non-black hair. Black hair is, in fact more brittle, dryer and curlier and a coarser. For this reason, with black hair, both black hair products and extra care require attention.

In the market segment of black hair products there are countless items designed to restore moisture, condition and pamper your hair. We here include shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, pomades, and others. The black hair products advertised on the market are designed for both female and male users and for children as well. In case you show interest in learning more on these special black hair products you can turn to a hair salon and ask for the advice of a specialized hair stylist. One other possibility here is for you to browse the web.

The good thing about using the net to find black hair products is that the available pages in the first search pages will almost always tell you how to use these products as well. Sites like Northwest Scents, World of Hair.com, as well as others, provide you with details about the kinds of black hair products they supply, prices, how you can order them, as well as information about the ingredients, general applications and usage instructions.

If you want to have beautiful hair, then check out This site for more information about The above topic

Black Hairstyles – Top Styles for Today’s Black Hair

Today’s Black Hairstyles have increased in beautiful design and diversity thanks to new formulations in black hair products allowing hair to maintain strength, reduce breakage and maintain moisture.

Long, short, and wavy hairstyles have pushed their way to “center stage” with increased functionality and beauty. Hair extensions, coloring, straightening are now made increasingly possible with advanced designs and proper hair care.

What’s new in Black & African American Hairstyles

Women’s hairstyles have become more diverse with longer, wavier cuts becoming most popular in 2008. Thanks to Beyonce and numerous celebrities, smooth, silky and wavy designs are the look. For those of you with shorter hair, don’t despair. The same techniques used for long hair apply equally to short hair as well.

Smoothing and straightening with African American hair products has become less damaging thanks to products containing Jojoba Oil. Mineral oil, used for years to clean and moisturize, is damaging to hair follicles. Jojoba oil has made intense styling more safe without as much risk of breakage or hair fall. Straightening, relaxing, perming and highlighting allow for some beautiful designs and the risk of harmful over-styling is becoming reduced.

For men, the short and tight look of the past few years is subsiding. Short, but more natural styles are coming on the scene with lengths from 1/2 inch to two inches most popular. Moisturizing conditioners, styling aids and periodic use of clarifying shampoos has allowed hair styles to maintain their luster and shine without depleting moisture.

Braids and dreadlocks continue to be the style for longer hair, but fast hair growth or extensions (or growing your hair a very long time) are necessary.

Keys to maintaining healthy Black Hair

Black and African American hair is dense and its molecular cell structure is compact. This leads to dryness. Sebaceous glands at the hair root emit sebum (oil) which is inhibited not only by the thickness of the scalp follicles, but by the often kinky or tightly wound nature of black hair.

Oils are unable to coat the follicle as efficiently therefore dryness, breaking and product build-up are common. Infusing moisture is the key to maintain healthy hair enabling advanced hairstyles.

Moisture can come from within – drinking plenty of fluids, maintaining a healthy diet of raw vegetables and fruits, avoiding moisture depleting styling, or hydration can be topically applied externally with rinse-out and leave-in conditioners and moisture shampoos.

Advances in Black Hair Products

In the past several years, two ingredients have emerged from manufacturers that have helped dramatically improve black hair products. One, LusterPlex, an active ingredient in many hair products, has been shown to greatly enhance the shine, sheen, silkiness and manageability of black hair care. Used primarily in shampoos and conditioners, it was originally formulated to add shine to long, smooth hair.

As often is the case with many products or ingredients, it found uses far more diverse. In studies it has been shown to improve tensile strength, strengthening weak or breaking hair, and greatly increasing shine, while softening – allowing for a new range of hair designs.

Two, Jojoba Oil has now taken its rightful place as a replacement for mineral oil. Often used to aid in styling, cleansing or to add hydration, mineral oil leads to damaged follicles and thinning. Jojoba oil naturally deep cleans and hydrates and leaves hair stronger while effectively removing dirt and product build-up that often lead to flakes and flaking.

Though used as an active ingredient in many hair products to increase cleansing, it is often combined with other “actives” such as Panthenol or Trichogen to soothe the scalp or increase hair growth.

Black hairstyles are beautiful and luxurious – and maintaining proper health and strength has enabled straightening, relaxing and perming to accelerate beautiful styles without damage and breaking.

Whether you’re looking for smooth, straight and highlighted designs, or prefer short and natural, today’s black hairstyles now provide beautiful, celebrity-like selection with black hair care and advanced active ingredients.
